Budin School, Bobonaro District

Completed 2023 – US$53,000 4 Classroom and Teachers’ Room School Building, Toilets, Water Connection and Basketball Court

Budin is a small village near the Indonesian border, about two hours from Dili. The school has 224 students in 5 classrooms.  One building with 3 classrooms is adequate, but the other was in terrible condition and at risk of collapse.  The toilets were all unusable.

Spend it Well built  a new 4 classsroom and teachers’ room building, 5 toilets and handwashing facilities in 2023.  East Timor Roofing donated the high-quality roofing iron and trusses,  guttering and water tank for the project.  An Australian family also donated the funds to build a new basketball court for the school, much to the delight of all the children.

Rotary’s Donations in Kind provided second hand but great quality school furniture which it collected from schools in Melbourne.
