Liminaro School, Bobonaro

Liminaro School is in the mountains of Bobonaro, a 3.5 hour drive from Dili.  It had two school buildings for its 74 children, one of which was a corrugated iron shack. A family from Melbourne donated the US$73,500 needed to build a beautiful new 4 classroom and teachers’ room building, school kitchen, 5 toilets and handwashing facilities.  The new classrooms were all filled with furniture provided by Rotary Donations in Kind in Melbourne. Another family, who joined us at the school opening, provided backpacks filled with stationery and toiletries for all of the children at the school which the kids loved.
