Schools in Timor-Leste rarely even have a flat play area and almost never have play equipment.  We’re working with a group of Rotarians in Melbourne to try and change this and have put up a total of 6 playgrounds to date.

The Rotary playground team salvage, clean, repair and store good quality playgrounds which are being replaced and would otherwise be sent to landfill.

In 2026 Rotary paid to send a container load of 5 of these playgrounds to Timor for us.  Two families have each paid $5,000 to send them on boats and trucks to remote parts of the country and to put them up again (not an easy feat given the scale of the playgrounds).  We have 3 more playgrounds we’d love to put up at schools when we find the funding.
