{"id":743,"date":"2012-08-27T03:35:58","date_gmt":"2012-08-27T03:35:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spenditwell.com\/updates\/?p=743"},"modified":"2012-08-27T03:35:58","modified_gmt":"2012-08-27T03:35:58","slug":"amazing-youth-group-goes-to-macalaco-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spenditwell.com\/updates\/?p=743","title":{"rendered":"Amazing Youth Group goes to Macalaco School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spenditwell.com\/updates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Opening-Ceremony-186.jpg\"><\/a>Imagine 130 school children\u00a0in a\u00a0remote village in the mountains of East Timor having a music and dance based youth rights group from Dili arrive to perform for them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We were able to make that happen this week by co-operating with MAC an\u00a0incredible\u00a0organisation of young people from Dili.\u00a0\u00a0 15 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spenditwell.com\/updates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Opening-Ceremony-184.jpg\"><\/a>of\u00a0the MAC group\u00a0travelled to remote Macalaco &#8211; doing the last stage with all their instruments (including drum kit, synthesiser and guitars) in a builder&#8217;s open backed truck.\u00a0 They performed songs for the children which dealt with things like children&#8217;s rights, nutrition and hygeine and interspersed the songs with short teaching sessions and a puppet show.\u00a0 There was also dancing and some\u00a0capoeira (Brazilian based martial art combing dance and music) &#8211;
