In the two days since Peter McMullin promised to match donations up to $20,000, we have received\u00a0 $10,120.\u00a0 \u00a0We have 5 more days to try to reach the total.\u00a0 \u00a0Thank you so much to everyone who has so generously donated (many people for the second time).<\/p>\n

While people have been donating money, we have been spending it on the ground. Over the last two days we spent A$19,000 on food and supplies for 471 families – about 2,300 people in 5 villages.<\/p>\n

That money bought:<\/p>\n

420 mattresses
\n420 mosquito nets
\n840 blankets
\n252 4m x 3m tarpaulins
\n420 spoons
\n270 kg second hand children’s clothes
\n600 kg second hand adults’ clothes
\n5 x large community frypans
\n8,400 kg of rice
\n150 x 1kg packs of flour
\n420 x 1kg packs of sugar
\n20,000 packs of noodles
\n720 bars of soap
\n240 x 2 litre bottles of cooking oil
\n720 packs washing up detergent<\/p>\n

We are receiving more requests for emergency relief every day.<\/p>\n
